AirBn3 is an emergency moving, operated by artists, the visitors who enter someone else’s home, the daily life put in brackets in order to open up a private space. In this apartment, a dozen artists from Basel, Bern, Bienne, Fribourg, Lausanne, Zurich and some intruders from Geneva have settled down to create a collective stage.
A transfer takes place from one exhibition to another, from a first invitation to Basel in June 2018, follows that show in Geneva starting from January 29th, until February 7th, 2019. This second chapter is built on an in extremis promise, a dialogue that must be maintained, at the same time fragile and so precious, which allows us mutual attention, implicit benevolence, with the aim of building the suite together, as an agreement on the long term.
This shelter allows for redefining what matters most and showing fragments of artists’ practices that move in together for a week. Exhibited pieces fit into everyday life, are scattered throughout the apartment, there are masks, perfumes, paint, drawings, all kinds of chocolate plates, shoes, concrete poetry, videos and prints. And drunkenness, smoke and forgetfulness also appear as the mediums of our practices, without limits of methods, of gestures as free as determined by an invisible net.
In the end, what is shown is what is left at the end of the day, when you have nothing to hide and can no longer cheat. AirBn3 is open to rest, away from the neon light, to eat and drink something warm, take a shower, chat, listen to music or sleep for a few hours in this temporary comfort zone.

AirBn3 est un déménagement fait dans l’urgence, celui des artistes, celui des visiteurs qui entrent chez quelqu’un d’autre, celui du quotidien mis entre parenthèses, d’un espace privé qui s’ouvre.
Dans cet appartement, se sont installés une douzaine d’artistes de Bâle, Bern, Bienne, Zurich et quelques intrus de Genève pour une mise en scène collective.
Un transfert s’effectue d’une exposition à une autre, d’une première invitation à Bâle en juin 2018, découle celle de Genève en janvier 2019.
Ce second chapitre est celui d’une promesse in extremis, d’un dialogue qu’il faut maintenir, à la fois fragile et si précieux, qui nous permet une attention mutuelle, une bienveillance implicite, pour construire la suite ensemble, comme un accord sur le long terme.
Ce refuge permet de redéfinir ce qui compte le plus et de montrer des fragments de pratiques d’artistes qui emménagent ensemble pour une semaine. Les pièces exposées s’intègrent au quotidien, sont parsemées dans tout l’appartement, on trouve des masques, des parfums, de la peinture, des dessins, toutes sortes de plaques de chocolat, des chaussures, de la poésie concrète, des vidéos et des gravures. Et l’ivresse, la fumée, l’oubli, apparaissent également comme les médiums de nos pratiques, sans limites de méthodes, de gestes tout aussi libres que déterminés pas une toile invisible.
Au final, ce qui est montré, c’est ce qu’il reste à la fin de la journée, quand on n’a plus rien à cacher et qu’on ne peut plus tricher. AirBn3, c’est pour se reposer, loin des néons, manger et boire quelque chose de chaud, prendre une douche, discuter, écouter de la musique ou dormir quelques heures dans cette zone de confort temporaire.
